I love the practice of kintsungi ! Thoughtful piece, Bryn 😊 and complex- we all have different relationships to our traumas and hardships. But we certainly shouldn’t feel like we should have to hide anything, as you eloquently wrote

Thanks Camille! It makes me want to smash a few pots just to mend them together again. I’ll stick to the sketch for now though 😅

Excellent wording, as usual, Bryn. I'm reminded of a song that says "Tattoos and scars are different things."

Thanks James! I’m intrigued by that lyric...what song?

"Tattoos and Scars" by Montgomery Gentry. It's country-rock, but the lyrics are good.

I love thinking of scars and trauma as something that should be visible rather than hidden! That would do so much for our mental health!

Thanks Jillian! I agree, especially where we all go through it, we should be kinder to ourselves and others. 💜

SUCH a beautiful post, Bryn. And your artwork is glorious!

This has got me thinking about my own body, inside and out, and how its experiences of hurt, sickness and frustration might be represented in artistic form. 🤔 That'll be an interesting exercise - any darkness paired with joy, colour and as much gold paint (I can't stretch to the real stuff!) as I can squeeze out of the tube!
