Thanks, Bryn! A perfect contemplative read for me this early rainy morning! I am curious to read this book. It sounds like he is an author who can feed the mind and soul.
Great observation, David. Perhaps that’s what made him so good - his ability to see the patterns, whether the data was human or celestial. (Although, come to think of it, he did say that we were all made of star stuff 🧐…)
I’ll have to wander through the stacks at work and see if we have it! Some very prescient questions - and after a weekend in American news, even more pressing than it was on Friday, somehow?!
It’s WILD how prescient his words were, with everything continuing to unfold in the world. Someone who clearly understood and saw patterns in all types of data.

Sagan understood human life patterns almost as well as he knew the stars.

I haven't read that book. I always had a lot of respect for Sagan, he talked a lot of sense
He did, and he did it in a way that was kind, even if he disagreed with the premise.
almost unheard of these days, sadly -- on social media at least
