I’d never seen one of those before and thankfully they’re out of vogue now because I would definitely be worried about it falling the entire time I was in its vicinity. Love this new series!

Thanks! 🎃

I was so scared it was fall, especially walking underneath it to the basement following my dad. When I see him this weekend, I’ll ask him if he took it down before moving to another space, and if he knew what it was.

Didn't know about the break cleaner connection. I'll be more cautious. Great post.

Thanks Mark! Be careful. The link in the article links to another article where a man got sick off a few lingering drops vaporizing near his welding torch. Nasty nasty stuff.

Thanks Stephanie! Yes, chucking glass bottles at a fire seems crazy, but I imagine future folks will end up feeling that way with our methods!

Right? That it was even in a shop still in the late 80s 😬

As soon as I scrolled down and saw the photo, I said to myself, "Oh that's a fire extinguisher". And how did I know that? If you've ever watched American Pickers on the History Channel, in the earlier episodes, Frank Fritz collects firefighting memorabilia. He has picked up several of those over the years. They explained that back in the old days they just threw those on the fire.

I think that’s where most people are finding them “in the wild” these days, Matthew! I think I’d wary of keeping that in a home collection, though.

I know I wouldn't keep it. He got a case full with like 8 of those in the case one time. Who in their right mind would keep something like that? I'd be afraid of a massive explosion.
