What a beautiful piece, Bryn! I especially resonate with ‘January as clarifying’...it also captures the sense of hope...new beginnings...the imagery draws me into what needs to be clarified...
Thank you, Jo! I’d love to see your finished quilt when you’re ready. I feel that quilting affords more creativity in the temperature blanket patterns and design (at least what I’ve seen shared online as examples).
A beautiful blanket. But what struck me was the photo of the ice coming up from the forest floor! A regular sight when I was a child in the 70s/80s ... but I couldn't tell you the last time I saw that. So long ago, I'd forgotten it even existed.
What wonderful imagery! I had literal shivers reading your beautiful piece! I love winter walks with all the feelings of cold...also knowing how wonderful it will feel to return home!
So lovely of you, Susan 💕 I hope you’ve warmed up now! And there’s something to it - the idea of coming home after being displaced. I think about that when I travel, as much as I love learning about new places.
Not right this moment: we’ve got a light skiff of snow on the ground and it’s not supposed to get above 20 F for the next few days! Like a good PNWer, I’m going to hid inside until the proper 40 and rainy returns.
That blanket is gorgeous. :).
Thank you, Olga! :)

I know we’ll talk more about this, and I am so looking forward to this conversation 💕
This is so well written. Thanks fir sharing.
I need to quilt my temperature quilt top from 2023.

Oh, interesting! It’s a regular occurrence in spring forest floors here, but with the constant oscillation of warm and cold here now...thanks. Bryan.
I like the blanket
Thanks, Tom. When I think of our winters now, it strikes me that they might more similar than before to yours?
I love the blanket! It reminds me of the endless rain from the summer, but also the strange and confusing year in climate we had.
Thanks, Alison. 💕 It’s funny you see the endless rain in the layers; I think I forgot about it for the oppressive heat of the summer.

What a stunning post, Bryn - so beautifully written!
The blanket is gorgeous - what a tremendous project! I love how you've marked the months with tassels - that's such a great idea.
