oh amazing! I'm still trying to decide the best way to share here...I might do a roundup at the end of the month & share some on notes in the meantime! What about you?
That’s a good question 😅 I’ve been sharing on here in Notes and Bluesky, but I might do another round-up in November; this one here was a fun break in the regular programming 😃
Absolutely gorgeous post, Bryn! And a real education - we have very few birds in common with yours over here, and it's been wonderful to explore your beautiful pictures!
Thanks, Rebecca! I’m surprised in some ways; I would have thought we had more in common than not. So now I’m in need of an education 🤓 Were there any real weird ones in this list for you?
Actually, although many of yours are complete strangers to me, some of them do look familiar. We call that chickadee of yours a 'great tit' (we also have blue tits, coal tits, marsh tits, willow tits and bearded tits); and we have tree creepers which look like your brown creeper. Your sparrows are prettier than ours, but I prefer our robins to yours. Your 'house finch' looks like the male of what we call a sparrow over here! We have 'yellowhammers', not yellow warblers - although they're just as yellow as yours. Your cardinal and purple finch are stunning - I have serious bird envy there. Your great blue heron looks like our grey heron, but bluer. Both - of course - are great! 😊
I just looked up the British robin, and I think I agree with you - the red breast is stunning. And the blue heron here has a few varieties, one of which is more white and ink blue, more befitting the name than this subdued fellow.
Such a beautiful collection of photos and poetic glosses, Bryn.
Thanks, Mark!
I do love a good bird pic! My one Brown Creeper sighting was pretty exciting for me, but I didn’t get a pic.
Thanks! It was a lot of blurry shots in low light until this guy showed himself! Thankfully I had Bird Perv - I mean Merlin - to help track him 😃
Stunning photos!
I love the whole concept of this prompt too, I'll definitely make a note of it for next September!
Thanks, Pamela! It’s a lot of fun to see the amazing art people share, and a good mental puzzle to figure out what to do for each prompt. 🤓
Yes absolutely! I'm trying inktober this year for similar reasons, but I like the science theme of this one!
Me too! Are you sharing them on here or elsewhere (or at all)?

Such a beautiful post - I've learned so much.

These are awesome, Bryn! You’re quite talented at capturing nature
Very kind of you, Camille, thank you for checking out all the bird friends from this year!
