Reading your posting today made me realize how much I have come to depend on the sub stack community this past year. It has been a creative touchstone for me throughout these turbulent times for which I am so very grateful! Small creative practices have sustained me ,quieting the cacophony . Thank you Bryn for your sharing!

Thank you for sharing, Susan. I think the way you worded that - creativity quieting the cacophony - is a perfect way to summarize it. Acts of creativity are especially important these days (with AI) in grounding us in and celebrating our humanity 💕

I guess what fills my creative cup is people like you, Bryn. I'm not much of a creator myself (beyond websites), so I rely heavily on others to add creativity in my life, whether it's a book review (or a book), a Substack here and there, a song, a CD. I suppose I require inspiration more than creativity, but they do go hand in hand.

Thank you for saying so, James. I do find that creativity is very broad, and curation of playlists or websites is as much as a creative act as brush to paper.

You're so welcome!!! I'll keep going!! Thank you!!! And yes, isn't it curious how often the simplicity, fun and humor of a novel, video or visual art will come across as "effortless" when really making something lighthearted takes as much skill and effort as making something grimdark...🤔
